Hi, Michael. Carefully follow these steps. I just did a quick run through of the steps so I would make sure they will be performed correctly. In the search box type the word sound and press enter. You will hear a dialog saying something like select a playback device with a list of items. You might hear no selected items so press up or down arrow to get the items to speak. Find the item that has the word default in its name. Once you find that item tab to the properties button and press enter. Tab until you come to a general tab. Once you reach the general tab press the right arrow key to find the enhancements tab. Tab once to a button that says disable all sound effects. Press the spacebar to check the check box. Your sound lebel should drop immediately so you'll have to set your preferred volume. Tab to ok and press enter. Tab to ok again and press enter to get out of the dialog. Good luck. If I have made any mistakes please let me and the list know.

Well, after trying and trying I finally figured out how to adjust the sound to a listenable level. I typed the word sound in the search box and pressed enter. I down arrowed to the default playback device and tabbed to the properties button and pressed enter. I pressed the right arrow and found the third tab which is enhancements, tabbed to the disable all sound effects, and checked the box and bingo! The sound issue was resolved. All is well again.
