I made the mistake of upgrading my Window-Eyes to 9.5.1 before I
upgraded Windows 10 to the Anniversary edition. Bad move. Speech went
away, and I got a system.dll error message. Sent the laptop back to
Dell under warranty, and they reinstalled Windows 7 (which was the
original OS on this machine. So, I start over. Question is: How do I
reinstall Windows 10 after the deadline? I understand those of us with
assistive technology have an extension, but how do I check this out?
Also, will 9.3.1 of Window-Eyes run under Winbdows 10 Anniversary? Want
to avoid the mess I got into earlier. Thanks in advance.--Matthew Chao

Chris, as you know I was using window-eyes 9.5.10, and the issue is that
I had run the install for window-eyes 8.0 which was the base install
for my 9.5.10. I found this out when I uninstalled last night for the
first time. In that way I found out that the installer did not remove my
we display driver at all. Many of us customers updated from windows 7 to
ten initially last July, 2015, so we have to remove window-eyes
including deleting the drivers from within control panel and device
manager. I was only able to update to the current windows anniversary
update after I did this.

OK, and please. Where do you go to find out if you have this troublesome
display driver, and what is the safest way to uninstall.
Thanks,
Larry

hi chris,
unfortunately, to install the anniversary update you need to uninstall
the window-eyes display driver and any freedom scientific drivers that
you have installed before it will go ahead.
thankfully the free screen reader NVDA will continue to work for you
while you get the update started.
