Hi Rick and all, Just a minor correction to my post below, namely, when I upgraded my Windows 7 Ultimate machine to Windows 10, it became Windows 10 Pro, not Ultimate. In fact, Windows 10 Enterprise is the version above Windows 10 Pro, but this is a unique version for enterprise business environments.
Thanks, Rod -----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Rod Hutton via Talk Sent: Sunday, August 7, 2016 12:22 AM To: 'Rick Thomas' <[email protected]>; 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' <[email protected]> Subject: RE: Windows 10 upgrade for assistive technology users Hi Rick, In my Windows 10 Home edition, I used Windows Update, and, in that dialog, the Check for updates button, and, once the Install updates button appeared, that is, after the update downloaded, the new version was installed. Now, on another version of Windows 10, this time Ultimate within a virtual machine, I noticed that I am still running Windows 10 1511 and it is reported that I am up to date. I'll have to check on that over the next while and see if thre is another update available for Ultimate. As mentioned we need to get the W10 anniversery edition for screen readers. Did you download the Media Creation tool you posted the url to and how does that work to download the free upgrade or does it? Does the Media Creation tool have you enter the url of the free version for screen reader users or what does the process look or sound like as you download and install? I am running W 8.1 currently and sure would like to avoid all the problems if I can.
