Rick,
I'm sure I wont say anything that will help a great deal in this
discussion, but it is helpful to know what possibly happens when I'm not
getting any quick input from my keyboard to the computer all of a
sudden, and also not able to issue any commands. However, it seems that
if I remember to press the windows key and go into the start screen with
Cortana highlighted, and tab once or twice and then press the windows
key again in order to come out of the start screen, then all seems to go
well again.
This situation cropped up again just yesterday when I was moving between
Thunderbird, TotalRecorder, and Winamp. It doesn't happen a lot, but
when it does, it sure can leave one flummoxed for a time.

hear, the only thing I can make sense out of, when WE does lock up.
So, it does appear that Task Scheduler may likely be using the Microsoft
Management Console hidden window and that may be playing into your situation
like it may likely be playing into my problems with the system logs and even
perhaps WE losing focus and Narrator telling me "Send us feedback" when it
opens - don't know but hope someone has a clue and some pointers for more
in-depth homework on my part.
