I see that several of you re using the PC app. Can you register your PC
without sighted assistance. If so, how? I have not received any response
from anyone who has actually used Window-Eyes to read the registration boxes
on a PC. Some of you may have doneit years ago, but has anyone actually done
it in the past year? After I got my PC registered with sighted help, I had
trouble selecting books for download. I was using Internet Explorer 11. I
was so frustrated that I asked Customer Service to deregister my PC. Will
Chrome or Firefox work better? Again, some of you are doing this. I know I
am using the Accessibility plug-in because it is, by far, the largest of the
two files, and I have downloaded it from the link for accesibility. I am
using Window 7 64-bit Pro with WE 9.5.1. I haven't updated WE yet, but will
do so shortly. I would really like to know if there is something I am
missing with Window-Eyes. If you want to write off list, that's okay.
Thanks.

Do you know what voice the keyboard uses? I guess I'm use to it, I've
rad many books, and I like it. I don't particularly like the female
voices. What a person gets use to I suppose.

I started out by using a Kindle Keyboard several years back. I don't use
it any more. The thing is, The Fire tablet has Ivona as it's tts and is a
better tts than the tts on the Kindle Keyboard. Also when it comes to
reading, the Fire tablet has a lot better navigation of books than the
Kindle Keyboard.

Maybe, if you can get use to touch screens which I never have. I'll
stick to my kindle keyboard. I like that voice better anyhow.

You would be better off buying the $50.00 Fire tablet from Amazon to

Subject: Amazon's Kendal Book Reader for the PC
Hello,
A few years ago, Amazon put out a program that was to have made Books,
in the Kendal format, readable by using Amazon's Book reader for the PC.
I did download this Reader, but found it lacking and ended up not using
it.
Now that two or three years have gone by, does anyone on this list have
any recent experience with this Reader by Amazon?
Does it work? Are there issues I should know about? And of course,
does it work with Window Eyes or NVDA?
Thanks for any comments,
Grumpy Dave
