Many of you, will have come to appreciate the functionality of the Firefox Add-on named WebVisum. Among other things, it leaves you a way to solve - at least some - captchas on a website. It also let's you taylor your Firefox, optimizing it even more for screen reader use.
In general, you may have downloaded it from Webvisum's own homepage. And if you try that now, you will get version 0.9.1, which is the latest available from there. Try as hard as you want, you won't get it running under Firefox versions newer than 43. This is due to an additional security check of modern Firefox versions. Even if you have the WebVisum extension installed from old, it will automatically be disabled by your Firefox. And you, will loose its features. I want to share with you all, the fact that you can get a newer and signed version of the WebVisum extension, which will run under modern versions of your Firefox browser. But you will not get it from the WebVisum team's homepage. Instead you will have to go to Mozilla's (the manufacturer of Firefox) homepage. here, choose the link for Add-Ons, and do a search for the WebVisum. Or, to save you all that hazzle - let me provide you the direct link to the newest functional version of WebVisum, version 0.9.5. You find it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/webvisum/?src=search On the page, use your quick navigation key H, to go to the heading that reads: "WebVisum 0.9.5", and then use the L, to find the link that reads: "Add to Firefox". Press Enter here, and in a few seconds hit the Alt-I hotkey, for accepting the installation. When prompted, restart your Firefox, and log in to WebVisum with your username and password. In a matter of few seconds, you again will enjoy the many benefits of this long-time appreciated extension for Firefox. For those of you, who are not yet registered as WebVisum users, you will first have to go to the WebVisum.com site, and do your registering. You will need to be "invited" or Confirmed by an existing WebVisum user. Talk to someone in your vicinity, or call for someone on the list here, to invite you. Then, once your registration has gone through, follow the above link and steps to install and activate your WebVisum. Thought I would let you all know, since it is a bit out of normal order, that you cannot get the newest and most updated version directly from the developer's homepage. Many of you might - like me - have tried to download from there, only to find the add-on not to work; and then given up on it all. So, today I found the right way to handle the issue - and thought it would be nice to help the rest of the community, should anyone feel the need. :) Regards, -- David _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
