Attempting to answer some of your query, I am going to just give you a
couple of features of the WebVisum extension for Firefox. Otherwise, why
not try a search on the net, with a term like:

     Webvisum what does it do?

First and foremost, it lets you solve captchas on the web. Have you ever
tried to sign up on a webpage, or fill in a form, and got to the point
where you are asked to type in "the characters in the box"? Visually, on
the page is a graphic box, holding some characters, that will differ
from one case to the next; what is named a captcha. Under normal
conditions, this is an activity-stopper for any blind person. Some sites
have an audio function, which in case it works, at the best comes up
with a highly distorted read-out of the characters in the captcha. Good
luck, in trying to figuring what is said in that audio, and at the same
time entering it all correctly into the edit box provided. With
WebVisum, you can have it all solved for you, placed on your clipboard,
and simply paste it into the edit box.

WebVisum further has a set of sounds, that will help you determine when
a page is fully loaded, or if there has been encountered any trouble.

You also can block automatic updating of a page, something that has been
an increasing issue with the new Browse Mode in Window-Eyes. It further
can block flash content of the page, making it even more easily operated
from a blind user's perspective. It can block images from loading,
making the site load quicker.

Furthermore, WebVisum gives anyone the chance of labelling controls on a
website. Meaning, if you find a page with badly named links and
graphics, you can have some chance that others have visited the page
before, and labelled the controls. Now that you have WebVisum installed
and running, you will immediately benefit from those labels, since they
are shared across the WebVisum user community. Eventually, the hope is,
the web will just become a tiny bit more easy and accessible for a blind
user.

Did that help you? Did these features wet your apetite? If not, I only
can encourage you to register and install the extension, then do your
own experiencing. You don't loose anything, since all you have to do
should you find it not to benefit you, is to uninstall the extension
under Firefox.

A small tip for WebVisum users:
Under the Preferences section of the WebVisum, you might want to check
the box for standard notes, which specially mention Window-Eyes, as a
reason for it being there. Should tell us, that the team behind the
extension even acknowledge our screen reader, in their development.

Firefox Add-on named WebVisum. Among other things, it leaves you a way
to solve - at least some - captchas on a website. It also let's you
taylor your Firefox, optimizing it even more for screen reader use.

And if you try that now, you will get version 0.9.1, which is the latest
available from there. Try as hard as you want, you won't get it running
under Firefox versions newer than 43. This is due to an additional
security check of modern Firefox versions. Even if you have the WebVisum
extension installed from old, it will automatically be disabled by your
Firefox. And you, will loose its features.

signed version of the WebVisum extension, which will run under modern
versions of your Firefox browser. But you will not get it from the
WebVisum team's homepage. Instead you will have to go to Mozilla's (the
manufacturer of Firefox) homepage. here, choose the link for Add-Ons,
and do a search for the WebVisum. Or, to save you all that hazzle - let
me provide you the direct link to the newest functional version of
WebVisum, version 0.9.5. You find it here:

in to WebVisum with your username and password. In a matter of few
seconds, you again will enjoy the many benefits of this long-time
appreciated extension for Firefox.

will first have to go to the WebVisum.com site, and do your registering.
You will need to be "invited" or Confirmed by an existing WebVisum user.

here, to invite you. Then, once your registration has gone through,
follow the above link and steps to install and activate your WebVisum.

order, that you cannot get the newest and most updated version directly
from the developer's homepage. Many of you might - like me - have tried
to download from there, only to find the add-on not to work; and then
given up on it all. So, today I found the right way to handle the issue
- and thought it would be nice to help the rest of the community, should
anyone feel the need. :)
