I use it all the time here. And it doesn't matter what folder I'm in.
The only clarification is that I press and release Alt to focus the
ribbon, then 2 which is the shortcut while in the ribbon.
You can also press Insert-B to bypass the next Window-Eyes keystroke and
press Control-Shift-N which is the Windows Explorer new folder hot key,
but also the default field name hot key for Window-Eyes.
