You have a few options.
1. All of the default WEPM app installation files are in C:\Program Files\GW micro\Window-Eyes.
Make sure you install GwToolkit first if it's not installed.
2. Open the Window-Eyes control panel.
Alt F File. E Explore profile folder.
Backspace out of the folder and rename it. I'd also copy and paste the folder to another location as a backup if there's anything you want to save.
Reload Window-Eyes and it will create a new default profile folder.
You might want to close Window-Eyes and run NVDA or Narrator before renaming the default folder.
3. Backup your profile folder and then reinstall the latest upgrade file.

Having passwords say star is just a Window-Eyes option that's on by
default. It's so we're not broadcasting our password through speech
when
others are around. But you can turn it off.

I'd keep this in mind. And if you have any problems with
Window-Eyes I'd
put it in an exclusion list. Your antivirus may consider it a key
logger. Although if it does usually none of the browse mode keys work.
