I agree. I started with computers with an Apple IIE and
worked with Karen and David to learn Braille Edit. After 7 years, I
went to Vocal-Eyes and the Arkenstone Reader and DOS. Then it was
Windows and Window-Eyes 1.02 and more learning and some more expense,
about $10,000 for hardware and software when I converted to G-W
products in 1992. , but I never bought a car. I appreciate what Doug,
Mike, Aaron, and so many more have done to support us. I will
consider Window-Eyes my primary Screen reader as long as it works,
and I hope that is a long time, but I have arranged the conversion to
Jaws with 2 SMAs, also converted. All of this is hard for all of us,
but we have to deal with reality. It will be expensive for some and
difficult for all of us to learn what is new. I appreciate Raul's
work with helping us to convert. Thanks to many on this list who are
trying to help us deal with the learning challenge and reality.

Hello Doug.
Just a personal note, in which I acknowledge to you the dignity with
which you've handled the last few months.
I am genuinely sorry that Window-Eyes is no longer a work in progress.
It is true that I've been at the forefront of the criticism tossed
at VFO regarding its silence on matters pertaining to Window-eyes.
But I can say in all honesty that as I think the first person to
benefit from the VFO offer - it is a good faith one, and it looks as
if access technology and Windows through VFO might be entering a new
and exciting phase.
So again: a personal thanks for how you've been a positive influence
in my life through a great piece of software.
All the very best to you and the family for what is yet to come.
Vaughan.
