CTRL-X will delete that content. If you want to 'COPY' it without deleting it, you should highlight it and then use CTRL-C for 'COPY' and then CTRL-V to copy/paste the content, file, etc.

What I do is this. I highlight the file or files I want to move using the cursor keys. I then press CONTROL+C to copy the material to the clipboard. I then move to the directory in which I wish to place the file or files. I then paste them there with CONTROL+V. Next, I go back to the directory where the original file is and delete it. This puts the file in the Recycle Bin. I know there is a way to actually move a file, but at least this way, I am assured that my file is not lost or destroyed somewhere in the process. If worse comes to worse, I can restore the file from the recycle bin. Of course, when I am totally satisfied, I empty the Recycle Bin. Note that these are all Windows keystroke that should work with any screen reader. -----Original Message----- From: mcleod stinnett via Talk Sent: Monday, May 29, 2017 6:25 AM To: talk Subject: how do you move a file with w/e I haven't moved a file since I used outspoken screen reader.
