But before you can read a window with the simulated mouse pointer, you must press the numeric minus key to engage the JAWS cursor. and when you are done you press the numeric plus key to reengage the PC cursor. Otherwise your keystrokes will have no effect or not go where you expect. I haven't started exploring the use of the "touch cursor" yet, which is probably a little more analogous to the mouse pointer than the JAWS cursor is.

Subject: can someone help me a little?

Dear friends,

I recently just switch to jaws after 20 or more years using the superb
screen reader called window-eyes. One majorproblem that I am experience is
that I cant figure out how to review the screen line by line. For example,
goto the desktop.
Find the This Computer Icon.
Press alt enter on this computer to open its properties.
I know that you can use the insert+B in jaws to read the whole window, but
how to read this whole screen from top to bottom line by line and word by
word where necessary?

Your kind help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Michael Mixcallef
