You can start narrator, but it should not take hours for an update to install.
I got the latest update this week and it restarted and was back up in 5 minutes.

  Subject: latest windows 10 update

  Morning

Yesterday I noticed windows 10 creater was downloading about 50 files and
when finished, it sid you now to restart, which I did

It has now been running for hours and no sound but I hear the hard drive
  moving.

Can I start narrater to hear what is happening or is this normal for windows
  10 creater?

  Thanks

  Don
