It may not make a sound when you're in another program. But when I
download something it reads the notification area just like Window-Eyes
does and it says "Alt-N." And Alt-N is an IE command to focus the
notification area. I then tab through the buttons just as I do with
Window-Eyes.
Then it usually loses focus, which it seems to like to do.
