Later on today, i plan to get on the other computer and try re-installing the default set files and apps and things. That can fix things sometimes. I know it's not thunderbird itself, because other screenreaders read the list of messages just fine. Even more odd is the fact that if you press enter on one of the messages, Window-eyes reads it just fine. hmmm...
