hi List

Becky and Carol thanks for your replies.

I did try the Insert-spacebar and heard a pop but no choices and speech was not turned off (fortunately). I didn't try insert-spacebar S because there was not an option/prompt to do so.

Do I have a setting turned off?

Also, will turning off speech make my pc run like a normal pc so my husband doesn't have to deal with jaws keystrokes? With Window-eyes I would turn W-e off every time he needed to use my pc.

Thanks forany help.

Hi List,

I thought I ran across something about a function in jaws where you can put it in "stand-by" ? mode so a sighted person can use the computer without actually shutting jaws down?

If so how do you do that?

Thanks for any input.
