I think my problem with the arrows is not a Goldwave issue. It is
almost like something in Window-Eyes is turned on that shouldn't be. I
can't, though, figure it out. It keeps repeating the same thing every
time I press one of the arrow keys and it does not make any difference
as to which one I press. It is the dedicated arrow keys with the
problem, not the mouse keys.
Oh yes, thank you for your help. I gave your instructions to my
brother. His is working fine. Take care.

Hi Carol,
The ones without a blank entry can be left as is.
I don't know much about what up an down arrows do, only left and right.
The degree of seek that the left and right arrows perform is usually quickly
set using Shift-0 through Shift-6, as seen in the View menu.
The only useful app is the one I wrote, the GoldWave Enhance app, and has three
hot keys for reading the begin and end markers, as well as the total time
between them.
Best,
Rod

down arrows also.

Hi Carol,
In addition to recommending that you upgrade the current build of GoldWave
(since it works just fine for me with the current version of WE), here's the
solution to your problem:
How to make GoldWave respond better:
GoldWave tends to be sluggish when using a screen reader until one deactivates
visual effects as follows:
1. On the Options menu, choose Control Properties.
2. Choose the Visual tab using Control-tab, or by tabbing to the tab control
and activating the desired tab using arrow keys. Focus tends to jump around
and so you will have to tab to the tab control again to confirm that the proper
tab has been reached.
3. In each combo box which contains an option named "blank", set it to this
option.
4. Choose the Ok button and you're finished.
Best,
Rod

Subject: WE and Goldwave
Hi Group,
I am trying to use Goldwave with WE. There is a problem where trying to
navigate through a file using the right or left arrows causes a lot of
hesitation and then, silence before the file advances. It does not
matter which time increment I use. I am running version 570, but also
tried version 569. I also have two different versions of the Goldwave
app. One is goldwave0.27 and the other is goldwave_enhanced1.0.1.
Can anyone help me out with this problem? My brother is also using
version 6 something and is having the same problem.
Carol
