Hello Tom,
Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, that's exactly what I thought, yet it
seems to have affected my navigation on the desktop despite that not being
in browse mode. The odd thing is, when I am reading my e-mails in WLM, my
left and right arrow work normally, but not any where else. Btw, how do you
undefine a wrongly defined hot key, please?

Peter,
I would think hard about what you changed because browse mode hot keys
would not effect the arrow keys on the desktop, in explorer, etc,
because you're not in browse mode.
Look at hot keys, cursor. The arrows should not be defined in that list.
Also check Cursor keys, keys. Left and right arrow should both be
defined as character after. These are over-ridden when need be, such as
on the desktop.
Hth,
Tom

Hell all,
I badly need help with my Window-Eyes so I very much hope some kind soul

find a solution for me.
I was fooling around with my Window-Eyes hot key settings under browse
mode.
That was because I have been unable to read browse mode edit boxes with my
left or right cursor for some time. Instead of improving the situation, I
have made it worse. Now I cannot use my left or right cursor on the desk
top to read the various icons
or the letters in edit boxes in my e-mail client or when editing file
names. How can I
get back the use of my left and right cursor when using Window-Eyes? At
the moment I have to resort to using Jaws or NVDA.
am using W-E on a Windows 8.1 machine.
Hope someone can help me and thanks in advance.
