Hi Debra, Press Ctrl-Alt-0 once in order to disable the Insert-Key layout. Press it again if this turns out not to be the problem. Normally, that layout should be disabled.

The hot keys are: time instert+t; status cntrl-shift-s; and the status line says "speak all" with insert+s. There may be more which I have not discovered.
