i don't know, i run as a standard user.
but i have to load w e as administrator when a program i load requires to run
as administrator.
but even then the time and date keys still work in this mode.
when i copied my backup w e default folder back i did this in my standard
windows account and left the administrator account alone because it still
works. grin.

It just occurred to me what must have happened.
Somehow the All Users Profile must have become active.
You know, this is the one which is available when you run WE as Administrator
and then you can switch to it in the Profiles node.
Unless you uninstalled the Insert-key layout app from the All Users Profile, it
would still exist in your installation of WE, just waiting for an inadvertent
switch to the All Users Profile.

i replaced my w e default folder with my backup folder and it is working again.
i always turn everything off with a power strip when i go to bed. there were
a few times when the computer turned itself on, even with a complete shutdown.
at least no one can hack my computer when it is off. they can
in sleep mode if the power strip is still turned on.
no risk of the computer power supply catching on fire while i am asleep.
extending the life of the computer and the bearings in the fans. etc.

Jst for the fun, in all this playing around, did you try restarting your
computer? Have seen a few cases, where some behavior sticks, and once
the computer has been restarted, things work normally again. Just be
aware, I am talking about a real restart, not just going in and out of
sleeping or hibernation mode. Worth to keep in mind, should you run into
a similar case later on.

when you change it back to Insert+T it speaks the title.
Just for the heck of it I'd try turning apps off. If that doesn't work
I'd try assigning Insert+T to something else and see if it works there.

Check the Keyboard > Layouts and make sure it's set to Window-Eyes
defaults. There were also some JAWS and I think other keyboard layouts
included in a script with hot keys to turn them on, which I did exactly
once by accident before uninstalling those scripts.
This is why I uninstall all scripts I'm never going to use.
