Dennis,
All browsers need considerable work on the screen reader's part to get things working. And Chrome wasn't done yet when Window-Eyes was eaten by the shark. So some things just aren't visible to Window-Eyes in Chrome. I use both IE and Chrome and can usually get what I need with one or the other. Although IE support by web sites is slowly being phased out. So I also use NVDA with Chrome if I get stuck.
