I had a similar experience at about the same time. That does cause me to wonder whether a Microsoft update across Windows 8 and 10 might be causing this.
Sadly, I have misplaced my Window-Eyes 9.5.4 CD. Pretty desperate to try to reinstall, even though this news is a little discouraging. There are still several things WE does better than screen readers now on the market--some of them in Microsoft Office 2013. For me, it's a matter of productivity.
