Our challenge is to manage to do this while also keeping the data interpretable. If an in-truck navigation system knows that this particular truck needs a clearance of 5m then maxheight=15'0" needs to be interpreted somewhere. My favourite suggestion so far is that a second key be introduced - either for the "original" measurement (my favourite, since it retains the traditional meaning of the existing key) or for the normalised equivalent.
