Thanks Gerv, you made my point - better than I could've done.

Guidelines of good practice should be so versatile that they apply to
every situation. I'll try to correlate those with "editing conventions
and standards" in a way that "Good Practice" is just about a few short
and simple statements that define how all this should happen. While the
other page contains technical details how to put these guidelines into
action.
