... But does the .gpx editor need to be part of josm? As you know, there are many available on-line - my personal favourite is GPS Utility at http://www.gpsu.co.uk/ ... I usually clean up my track log as soon as I can on return to base (including converting it to whatever format, e.g. .gpx, I might need for a particular purpose). At the same time I add at least a descriptive (to me ) name ... And, as soon as I have time, I annotate the waypoints from my voice recorded notes. Once that is done my ageing memory can relax and the actual upload and mapping (whether josm or potlatch) can wait until I have time to play!
