Hi all, Hackerspaces (http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/Hackerspaces) are community-operated physical places, where people can meet and work on their projects. Most important cities have one. Unfortunately, despite being big on openness, and freedom, the hackerspaces website uses Google maps (eg: http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/List_of_Hacker_Spaces).
You can tag hackerspaces in OSM with leisure=hackerspace ( http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:leisure%3Dhackerspace ). I've created an OSM slippy map of the hackerspaces we have in the database: ( http://technomancy.org/osm-hackerspaces/ ). We currently only have 4 in the database. If you're involved with the hackerspace movement try to add your own. How this map is generated: http://blog.technomancy.org/2009/9/12/how-to-make-a-map-based-on-openstreetmaps Rory McCann
