hi all, i think osm is just about ready to become the sole map provider for facebook.
now that bing and mapquest and nearmap .... and a bunch of others are on board, im wondering if anyone has a ground-connection to the facebook apps under-world? it seems that fb cant use googlemaps as they are arch-rivals ..... google tries to be its own facebook.. and right now, flick (with a silly account limit) can geotag photos and uses osm. would be wild to see this happen, as i think that the openstreetphoto project could be able to handle it. or maybe this is something that mapquest can handle independently? since the photos dont need to be in osm directly, just fb using osm as the basemap. ideas? is this currently in the works? cheers, sam btw, the axif data gets lost from facebook uploads, the app needs to keep the data .... and pass the privacy hurdle ... so just having users place a marker near the location on the osm map is ideal. from that, a kml feed overlay can happen. -- Twitter: @Acrosscanada Blogs: http://acrosscanadatrails.posterous.com/ http://Acrosscanadatrails.blogspot.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/sam.vekemans Skype: samvekemans IRC: irc://irc.oftc.net #osm-ca Canadian OSM channel (an open chat room) @Acrosscanadatrails _______________________________________________ talk mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
