Speaking as an OS X user rather than any of you hardcore Ubuntu types - I've never downloaded a planet file. Ever. Country extracts are fine for me and, I suspect, for 99% of people. And loading it into a db isn't that nasty: I kind of regret the fact that the UK is now too big for ye olde planet-to-sql Perl script, and would much prefer a graphical UI to do the job, but Osmosis works well enough. cheers Richard -- View this message in context: http://gis.638310.n2.nabble.com/We-Need-to-Stop-Google-s-Exploitation-of-Open-Communities-tp6261888p6264364.html Sent from the General Discussion mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ talk mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
