To the best of my knowledge the sysadmins have never received any such
patch. Indeed as far as I know it doesn't exist.

static HTML and JS code that has been bolted on the side of the rails
code.
'Properly integrated' means....? A bit of static HTML and some JS code
is what got the job done. I'm wondering what benefit rails serverside
scripting will add to something that requires mostly clientside JS
scripting?
Have the sysadmins ever clearly stated what the requirements would be?
All I remember was: a non-invasive solution (i.e. no extra menu tab) and
that it integrated in the main OSM website...
