On my e71 which is I think similar to e72 I press the Function Key on bottom
left and the I key on the top row and this gives me a plus sign.

so how do you get a + sign when the list of punctuations marks will not
come up apart from 1 to 0 the only other key that does anything in that
field is the enter key.

Bernard
I can think of about 4 times we've help people with the message senders
on the cell phones within the last 4 months or so on this list aloan. I
do not know how many times it has came up over the last years. What you
enter into the message sender name is up to you. The number does need to
be entered by a user. The plus sign on the E72 isn't done with the star
key. It is done using the normal plus sign on the keyboard. So if you are
using the star twice quickly trying to get a plus sign that is a user
error and not a phone issue. Talks will read the screen for you when you
go into the messaging program, Options, Settings, Text message, Message
Senders. Then you can arrow to a existing one to edit it or press Options
and go to New Message sender. After you have enter/modified the message
sender! You need to press Back once and then arrow down to Message Sender
In Use and select it. In here you need to select the Message Sender to be
used.
So as you can see, there is more to just adding/modifying a message
sender before it will work.

Subject: [Talks] e72 hard reset must cause problems for telstra users.
Well I am even mor convinced now that the format in conjunction with
telstra's locked destination folders causes problems.
Now as well as not being able to connect to wifi networks I now can not
send text messages. in text message settings it says message sender not
defined and it wants a name and a number I called telstra and they told
me telstra for the name and gave me a number that starts with a plus
sign but you can't enter any punctuation marks in that number field.
Yes I had to manually enter in the talks code. This supports my claim
the locked destinations cause the hard reset to abort before completion
leaving the phone in a mess.
I've never seen a sender name and number in text mess settings before
today.
