I am getting confused by when you mention free navigation.  if you have build 
in gps, then that is free.

Ok, plese go to Setting / General / Position / Positioning Method and see what 
can u find there.

You should have Assisted GPS, this is not free;

Integrated GPS; this is free.

Do you have both the above?

I just tried on the 6700 slide again, it does have buildin GPS I think but 
it definitely does not have free navigation.
It basically have the same interface as my 6210 navigator so its not free.
but no doubt the usage is cheap for a year.
