TANGO IN SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, EVERY WEDNESDAY.
The GOLDEN GATE MILONGA is an ongoing event in San Francisco, organized
by Steve & Luz-Mary Harris. The "DJ" and instructor is Glenn Corteza.
In addition, we feature guests instructors from Argentina.
THE GUEST INSTRUCTOR SCHEDULE WILL BE
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18TH -- Hernan Obispo and Mariana Dragone
Hernan has taught worldwide including Canada, Brazil, Japan, Korea,
France, Denmark, Italy, and of course Buenos Aires. His style is
beautifully
fluid and elegant with great concentration on technique and classical
style. His
teachers include the Dinzels, Pugliese and Naveira. He was a great
success
when he came last year.
Mariana Dragone has taught at Nora's Tango Week and at CITA. She has
danced as the partner of El Indio. They will be coming from teaching in
Montreal and will be teaching next at the Portland Tangofest.
OCTOBER 25TH -- Christopher Nassopoulos and Caroline Peattie
Christopher Nassopoulos and Caroline Peattie teach Argentine tango
classes based on the milonguero, or social style of Argentine Tango.
They have taught tango both in the Bay Area and other parts of the
country. They emphasize floor craft, musicality, turns, and embrace,
while maintaining a playfulness in their dance. The techniques of both
following and leading receive equal attention.
Christopher and Caroline have traveled to Buenos Aires to study with
Susana Miller, one of the most respected teachers of the "milonguero"
style.
