For many years, the University of British Columbia Math Department hosted the tango-a/l archives. Apparently they have recently decided that their department doesn't really have much to do with tango, and they are out of space on their server. As of a few weeks ago, the tango list archive is no longer available.
They believe that they can provide us with the content of the archive, if we can find a new home for it. So, we are now looking for ideas for a new host site. Since UBC has taken the archive down, it isn't easy to guess how big it might be, but we can try to put the system administrators of any potential new site in touch with UBC to figure it out. The tango lists have always been free, e.g. our budget is exactly zero. We can't afford any commercial service, not even a cheap one. A university would be ideal; a large school that has a dance division is likely to be a stable home for a long time. Please send any ideas to [email protected]. Thanks, Jim Lane Tango-a/l co-moderator
