Dear Listees and Nancy, I went to BA with Brickell's package and on LAB and had a good time. There are some things I should advise you of. Lloyd has two 727's with which they fly down there with. They are also supposed to have an Air Bus 300 which I was supposed to fly back on, but I didn't see that, as they changed their flight plans . You fly to Panama, refuel, fly to Santa Cruz Bolivia, change planes and then fly to BA. Reverse that for flying back.
On my way down we were supposed to leave at 10:30 pm, when I got there the flight was immediately post poned to 1:00 or 1:30 am. On my way back from BA one of the 727's had maintenance down time and I spent the night in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. This was no loss to me and I used it for advanced partying and dancing purposes. Anyway, if you fly LAB, expect some adventure and have a hand grip with you with toilet kit, clothes, etc. The transfers in BA were great. They picked me up on time and delivered me to and from the airport, no problem. Taxis can cost about $45 to and from Luey and the airport. I took a day trip to Iguassu and they took and met me at the airport. By the way, Iguassu was an unbelievably beautiful place. I've been around the world twice and I think that place was special. The Luey was ok. Try to get a room not facing the street but into the courtyard. Breakfast was cereal, coffee juices and rolls with sliced ham and cheeses. The hotel was located on Rivadavia St (BLVD?) accross the street from a plaza and near the Once train station. The area was crowded and noisy with many shops, restaraunts, jillions of people and cars. Neighborhood not that uptown, but I felt safe. The sidewalks on Rivadavia are pretty busted up Mostly I walked or took a cab to the dances and lessons. I had to go to another hotel to meet the city tour bus. City tour was ok. I hope you have good trip to Argentina. I'm going back again.
