Laura Grinbank teaches estilo milonguero in Buenos Aires and runs the milonga Las Mireyas on Friday afternoon at Caribean. She spent the month of August in New York and California, and is planning another visit in February for three weeks. I recommended Laura to a new tango dancer from the US, and here are his comments about his private lesson in November with her:
"It was a wonderful experience. A 2 hour lesson, for which she charged $70 (and of course it ended up being more like 2.5 hours). I was really blown away by the amount of material we covered and by how much of it is sticking for me. Probably the single most satisfying tango learning experience I've had. I'm still processing and trying to personalize her approach, its very different from the way I've danced in the past and I'm not sure yet how much of it I will ultimately incorporate in my own style, but it was a wonderful experience.
