The quartet features three Americans, Catharine Clune on violin, Greg Stephens on trombone and Joshua Raoul Brody on piano and a native Parisian, Odile Lavault, on bandoneon. Theirs is a timeless repertoire ranging from the dramatic tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla to traditional Argentine classics like "El Choclo." Club style tango (milonguero style/close embrace/confiteria style) class from 8 to 9 p.m.; dancing to TANGO NO. 9 from 9 to midnight or later. Salon Recuerdo is located at the Culver City Masonic Lodge, 9635 Venice Blvd., between Motor and Bagley/Main. Admission includes class, milonga and refreshments.
