A few weeks ago I asked this list about milongas in Turin, Italy. I received numerous responses which enabled me to find 2 milongas I could attend during my short 4 day stay in Turin last week. I went to the L'arca milonga on Wednesday and the Salon de Tango on Corso de Sicilia on Saturday. There is an excellent website
http://www.aaanetsev.com/tango/tangoitalia.html which lists most milongas. I also received an e-mail from Piero Leli ([email protected]) which informed me of other milongas not listed on the website. Turin is a great tango city! It is possible to attend a milonga every night of the week except Monday. Attendance is high, filling each dance hall, but not so much that it prohibits normal movement. There are many very good dancers (which keeps movement going smoothly along the line-of-dance). Even though I do not speak Italian, I was welcomed warmly by the community (numerous people speak some English, some are fluent). I even caught the end of a lesson in canyengue on Wednesday which was very interesting. I would like to thank the Turin tango community for their warm welcome. If you travel to northwestern Italy (or if you're planning a tango tour of Europe), do not miss the milongas in Turin!! Leonardo
