I know many of you have been sending emails to Oscar asking when he will be
in the area next to teach. Oscar has been the favorite teacher of so many
of us in the Bay area. I remember several trips to Buenos Aires just to
study with him. He was one of my first teachers, when I still had wobbly
ankles and didn't know how to cross into a fifth without coming up on my
toes (please don't laugh, we all know that stage). And he is still one of my
favorite teachers, years later. He has incredible teaching methods which
cover all aspects of tango including "breathing." But not just breathing,
as we normally think of it, but the breathing that happens in all parts of
your body, as part of cadence, posture and balance. He works with the
students from "head to toe" so to speak, leaving no aspect of tango
untouched. He also observes and corrects how you appear and move from the
moment you enter the milonga, to the moment you leave. He has incredible
energy, eye for detail, and passion for tango. I just spoke with him on
the telephone where he is in Buenos Aire, and he asked me to let you know
that he is so excited about coming to teach and perform here. In addition to
the new show "Malambo" he is thinking about the upcoming teaching he will be
doing. He has some exciting new combinations and also some new teaching
methods which will allow students to make very fast progress.

So now, about the classes: as of now, we have the time scheduled on Mondays
for an advanced intermediate/advanced class series. We will be adding the
time for a beginner's and advanced beginners class series earlier on that
same day. The location for both classes will be either Berkeley or Oakland.
The size of the class will help us determine which location. So if you are
interested in classes or privates with him, please let me know even if you
do not see your level of class currently scheduled.
Thanks
Stella
