Well, folks, this is an opportunity that doesn t come around often ... it s
been a year and a half since Oscar Mandagaran wowed us at Tango by the
River, and we are delighted to announce that he is back! As many of you
know, Oscar has been part of Forever Tango since 1998 and danced both
tango and folkloric in this season s debut of Malambo. He s performed
with the Ballet Folklorico Nacional, and he appeared as a dancer in Carlos
Saura s film Tango. In addition, he s been teaching for 14 years.
>From now until June 26, Oscar will be teaching a variety of classes and
workshops here (see below). Plus, he will dance a performance at our June
22nd milonga! (More details to come next week...) To get the
pre-registered price for the workshops, you must pre-pay (over the phone
with a credit card or drop off a check or cash). Private lessons with
Oscar are available now through June 26; cost is $100/hr + $10 studio fee.

Oscar's Workshop Schedule:
Argentine Folkloric Dance & Culture In this three-part series you will
learn the fairly simple and easy-to-dance chacarera (which we will dance as
a group at the milonga on the 22nd with Oscar!), including some of the
stunning footwork demonstrated on stage in Malambo. You will also learn
about the history of yerba mate, including how to prepare the tea, the
customs associated with mate and, of course, you ll get to sample the tea
as well!
