Angel Garcia-Clemente Teaching Argentine Tango and New York-style Salsa in San Francisco Bay area September 16- October 25, 2002 Angel Garcia-Clemente, the popular performer, dancer and choreographer of "Ballet Las Pampas," has appeared in plays, commercials and performances all over New York City including Lincoln Center. He will be here especially to teach you his secrets of becoming a star on the dance floor. Performance workshop series (5 hours per week for 5 weeks): Have fun and excitement while learning to dance a combination of social tango and "tango fantasia" (stage tango). Angel will be choreographing a tango show lasting about 30 min. which will be showcased at a special milonga. You will learn the technique for a choreographed routine with other dancers as well as a solo number. These workshops will include information on selecting music for your performance, characterization and drama in tango, presentation, fantasia patterns including jumps, leg wraps and finales. Students are required to attend at least 25 hours of practice and classtime over a 5 week period. Performance on Oct. 25th. Total cost $295 includes free ticket to milonga and performance. 1st class on Saturday, Sept. 21st 2-4:30 p.m. at the Tango Studio, Berkeley. Subsequent schedule and meeting place to be arranged at first meeting. Pre-registration required. Minimum 8 students required for series to take place. 3 Different Series at the Claremont Hotel starting on Monday, Sept. 16th. Each series consist of 6 classes. The cost of each series is $60 members, $75 non-members; drop in $15/$20 single class. 7 Special: take both a salsa and tango series and save!
