March 26-28, 2004

I'm very pleased to announce that Seattle's sensational young tango couple -- Jaimes and Rachel, will headline a weekend of tango workshops, performances and social dancing in one of the heartland's up-and-coming tango destinations: Kansas City.

Jaimes and Rachel (www.freetango.net) are among the very best of a generation of young dancers who are bringing vital energy to Argentine Tango. They are inspiring and delightful as both social dancers and performers; they are warm and generous souls and remarkably clear, creative, and insightful teachers. The weekend's classes (March 26-28) will focus on connection, creativity and technique; for a full schedule and pricing, see the on-line flyer at

For those of you within commuting distance, this is a wonderful opportunity to check out a really diverse and friendly community, with a fantastic tango band (www.tangolorca.com) and extraordinary dance venues. Kansas City is a regional hub for arts, music, and commerce, the midtown region is home to universities, colleges, galleries, great cafés, nationally renowned Art and Music schools, and of course, a vibrant and creative tango community. In addition to events listed on the flyer, there will be a special advanced class on Saturday night in the Art of Colgadas (most likely followed by more dancing!!!). For more info, contact [email protected]
