Argentine Tango Workshop October 8, 9, 10 in Pittsburgh, PA
with Daniela y Armando of Buenos Aires
The Pittsburgh Tangueros welcome Daniela Arcuri and Armando Orzuza for a
high-impact weekend of tango classes and a Saturday night milonga, with special
guest DJ Manuk Colakyan.
Daniela and Armando combine the originality of the “Golden Era” with the
powerful styles of the modern tango of today. They focus on the elements of
technique basic to the tango, and move between close and open embrace to create
a flowing, dynamic dance. They have a long list of distinguished professional
credits and awards recognizing their talent, choreography, and performances.

Fri, Oct 8 At Wilkins School Community Center
7:00 – 7:30 pm Sign up and warm up
A) 7:30 – 9:00 pm Basic Technique for Every Body will guide beginners
and refres hexperienceddancers.Throughexercises,studentsacquire movement
awareness and centering and balance control that help the body adapt to tango
postures. This non-partner class focuses on the learning how to take control of
your own movements. All levels.
9:00 – 10:00 Practice
Sat Oct 9 At Wilkins School Community Center
1:00 – 1:30 pm Sign up and warm up
B) 1:30 – 3:00 pm Tango for New Dancers will touch on the many aspects
of the dance including connection and embrace, steps, rhythm, and floor
management. All levels.
C) 3:15 – 4:45 pm What Makes a Tango a Tango? Rhythm, musicality, and
interpretation: listening to the hard and soft tango, milonga, and waltz
phrases. Understanding variations in the music. All levels.
9:00 – 1:30? Milonga with DJ Manuk Colakyan at Wilkins School
Community Center. Daniela and Armando will perform. Dress to express –
refreshments provided. $10
Sunday, Oct 10 At Wilkins School Community Center
1:00 – 1:30 pm Sign up and warm up
D) 1:30 – 3:00 pm “Fantasia” Possibilities for experienced dancers,
including open and close embrace, changing posture and axis, embellishments and
new combinations. May include sacadas, lapices, volcadas, planeos, depending
on readiness. Intermediate levels.
E) 3:15 – 4:45 pm “Fantasia” Continued. You can take the second one
without taking the first, but the class will be geared to move, with no repeat
of material. Intermediate levels.

One class $25
Any 2 classes $45
Any 3 classes $60

All 5 classes $90
A 10% discount is available to those driving 50 miles or more to Pittsburgh.
PRIVATE LESSONS
for either a single or couple, with Daniela or Armando, are available Friday
day and on a limited basis through the weekend. The cost is $90/hour. If we
need to rent a room at WSCC, it will be an additional $15/hour.
