After 56 years, they are "STILL DANCING CHEEK TO CHEEK" (quoting that cheeky tanguero, Alex) 92nd St Y at Lexington Ave. 8-9:30pm A lesson for beginners-- Introduction to tango and milonga 9:30pm-300am an exciting milonga with live music by the NEW YORK TANGO TRIO About the Honorees: Alex and Jean have been dancing tango since they were introduced to it 19 years ago when the great production, "Tango Argentino", hit Broadway. This year they starred in a small but very mighty film called "Tango Octogenario" which is being seen literally all over the world---in all the film festivals!!! This Saturday we celebrate Jean's birthday, Alex's birthday, their 56th wedding anniversary and their dedication to tango and each other. Beloved tangueros, Lilia and Mario are expected to be in town---so for an evening of nostalgia, and a way to honor these long-time aficionados of the tango, do join us. Admission is $15.
