October 27 is the 100th anniversary of the New York subway system? I'm amazed that nobody has organized a milonga on the subway to celebrate this event.
Next year is the 100th anniversary of New York City operating the Staten Island Ferry. I hope the 2005 New York tango festival participants will celebrate on the ferry. New ferry boats should be coming on line later this year and next year. Maybe to celebrate both events, before going to Dance Manhattan new year's eve, partygoers can dance on the ferry, go to Dance Manhattan, and then the next morning go back on the ferry.
