Fileteado Porteno is the name given to the pictorial expression that had its birth and development in Buenos Aires. Filete refers to the thin line around the work; porteno refers to everything to do with the port city of Buenos Aires. At the end of the 19th Century, wagons were decorated with filete and later the artform expanded to the decoration of trucks and buses at the beginning of the 20th Century. Recognized for its special artistic merit, fileteado porteno is used commercially in restaurants and on all kinds of furnishings.
