We are pleased to announce the Ramu Pyreddy from Ann Arbor will be visiting St Louis again the last weekend of this month. Ramu is a die-hard tango fanatic - always one of the last to leave the dance floor. When he DJs, he tries to have as many dancers on the floor to the end. He is one of the top tango DJs in the country and regularly DJs at the major tango festivals, including Denver, Toronto, Washington DC, Portland, Atlanta and Ann Arbor. And, of course, he is a fabulous dancer. So ladies, be ready.
Ramu wants to tango as much as possible during his St Louis visit, so we have scheduled lots of events. Ramu will DJ a welcome party at Berette's house on Friday night, April 29 from 9pm to 1am. We will also be showing some film clips from Barbara Durr's tango documentary "Chasing the Ghost", which will show actual footage of milongas in Buenos Aires. On saturday afternoon 2-5pm, Ramu will be at the practica at Rutledge (Washington University) and give a musicality class. The last time he visited, almost 30 people came to the class and were inspired by his clear and enthusiastic teaching. In the evening he will DJ the Marbles milonga from 9pm to 2am. And for those that still have not had enough tango, we will also have another musicality class followed by a special practica on Sunday afternoon at Berette's house. For details and locations, see our website: http://cec.wustl.edu/~hs3 A limited number of private lessons with Ramu are available early Friday evening (before the party) or Sunday evening. Also, accommodation with local dancers can be provided for a limited number of visitors. Contact me to schedule. shaun
