The Tango Society of Boston is very pleased to announce that CARINA LOSANO of the film, "EVITA," will be in Boston THIS weekend, of 19-20 November (Sat, Sun) to give a series of Master Workshops in Sensual Tango and the milonga. Carina needs no introduction, but for those who are new to the Tango community, she is a very engaging instructor and a dazzling performer. Carino has been dancing since the age of 3. Her Tango experience started a decade ago when she assisted in the production of Tango Argentino with Juan Carlos Copes, Eduardo Arquimbau, Gloria & Rodolfo Dinzel and Carlos Rivarola. She has since studied Tango intensively under legendary masters Juan Carlos Copes, Eduardo Arquimbau and Pepito Avellaneda as well as with the middle generation teachers such as Gustavo Naveira. She thus represents a blend of the traditions of Tango dance and culture, as well as more modern innovations in the teaching of Tango. In addition to her widely-publicized role in coaching Madonna for her role in the movie Evita, she also participated in the choreography for that movie, and has performed and choreographed for many other movies (some award-winning) and for television. She continues to coach dancers in Madonnas more recent tours. She was also selected to be the representative for the Solo Tango all-Tango TV station in Buenos Aires.
On Saturday Night at La Milonga, Boston's most popularly attended milonga, Carina will be giving a performance exhibition. To register electronically, send an e-mail to [email protected], or contact the Boston TangoLine at 617-699-6246 (O-C-H-O).
