Dear friends and fellow tangueros, When we started this milonga, there were only 2 other milongas, once a month each, in the South Bay. We tried to fill the need for more tango for the local tangueros. Originally, we thought we would try it for a year, which we did, with mixed results. We never expected to profit from it, just to cover expenses and, perhaps earn a few bucks to make the effort worthwhile. Mostly we did it for the love of tango.
With its ups and downs, we managed to survive the first year. By then it seemed to be doing better, so we were encouraged to continue. Unfortunately, in the past months the attendance has declined. There are currently many other milongas and not enough dancers in this area to support them. You make your choices regarding which ones to support. It is impossible to do it for all of them, we understand that. Sadly, we have to make adjustments to minimize our loses. It is too much work for only two people, and without the help of some good friends we just couldnâ €™t make it. So in fairness to all, we will keep it once a month only and weâ €™ll see what happens. We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts to all of you who keep this milonga going. You make the effort worthwhile.
