"PAINTING TANGO "" VICKY BARRANGUET'S LIVE PAINTING AND THE MUSIC OF TANGO 
CASENAVE QUARTET, PLUS SPECIAL GUEST DANCERS, ALL TOGETHER IN ONE SHOW

NEW YORK, NY (September 15th, 2007) – Uruguayan paintor Vicky Barranguet, and 
uruguayan pianist Gustavo Casenave, are proud to present their unique "Painting 
tango" show on September 15th, 2007 at 8PM as part of their "Pintando Musica" 
series, established in 2005. The show will be held at Third floor Theatre, 
Hecksher Building (Museo del Barrio building), 1 East 104th st. New York, NY, 
11101. Tickets are $16, and $12 in advance at  www.casenave.com
 After several succesful performances in Uruguay, Argentina and New York, 
melding Barranguet's abstract art with Casenave's virtuous music, we are 
invited to enjoy this Tango tribute. Barranguet will be painting side by side 
with Tango Casenave Quartet, with reknown musicians Héctor del Curto (Eternal 
Tango Orchestra 's director and former bandoneonist from  Osvaldo Pugliese's 
Orchestra ), Pedro Giraudo (jazz bassist and composer, Giraudo Jazz Orchestra), 
Nick Danielson (violinist, New York City Ballet, Orpheus, Fiddler on the Roof)  
and Gustavo Casenave, pianist, composer and  musical  director,  performing  
Casenave's  original  tangos.Casenave  will  also present a very special 
arrangement, as a tribute to the 90th anniversary of the famous uruguayan tango 
"La cumparsita". The show will also feature internationally acclaimed Tango 
dancers Angel Garcia Clemente and Valeria Solomonoff.
Barranguet  studied with Larry Poons, William Scharf and Frank O'Cain at "The 
Art Students League" in New York, and with Clever Lara in Montevideo . She was 
part of a group show for the winners of the " Merit Scholarship from the  Art 
Students League", at "Cork Gallery" in Lincoln Center.  Her artwork has travel 
the world through  exhibitions, galleries, shows etc, including cities and 
countries like China, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, Austria, USA, 
Puerto Rico, Argentina and Uruguay. You can find Barranguet's paintings at:

Reknown pianist Gustavo Casenave,  Bette Midler's musical director (M.D.) for 
two years, tango arranger for Robert Duvall, "Forever Tango" Broadway Show  
member, recently  composed the music for the Uruguayan film "La Cascara" from 
Carlos Ameglio and the producers of Pedro Almodovar's movies, premiered at the 
NY Film and video Festival. He is currently finishing his new CD sponsored by

great musicians such as Manolo Badrena (former member of the legendary Weather 
Report), and the great uruguayan violinist Federico Britos among others.
