OMAR VEGA
Returns to La Boca..
Omar grew up in Buenos Aires, and has been dancing and teaching
tango since the 1980s. He studied with the master teachers and old
milongueros of Buenos Aires. His major influence was the late Tango
maestro Pepito Avellaneda, and Omar was one of his principal
disciples. He was featured at Il Giardino del Tango in Rome and at
Tuscany Tango in Monte San Savino, Italy in Summer 07 and was one
of the few maestros selected to teach in the prestigious Congreso
Internacional de Tango Argentino (CITA) in Buenos Aires in March
2007. Omar has taught and performed throughout the United States
and Europe as well as Buenos Aires. He danced in the feature film,
The Tango Lesson, and has the unique Milonga con Traspie Vol 1
instructional DVD available at www.celebratetango.com
